A classic 3-layer system is the ideal surface for paddocks, riding arenas and indoor riding arenas. The one-off cost and installation effort is offset by the long-term high quality of the surface and saves the expense of recurring renovation work.
During installation, a substructure (approx. 15-45 cm thick) is created first, depending on the ground conditions and area of application. This is followed by a base layer of e.g. 4-5 cm of gravel and a separating layer of paddock slabs. They are laid with the closed side facing downwards, aligned and snapped together. The slabs are overfilled with materials such as round gravel by approx. 2 cm. The final layer is a non-slip footing, e.g. made of high-quality riding sand.
